MDHHS Statement on the Childhood Vaccine Schedule
MDHHS issued a statement on January 6, 2026 regarding the federal changes to the childhood vaccine schedule with Michigan’s Chief Medical Executive Dr. Natasha Bagdasarian affirming the Standing Recommendation advising health care providers and families to follow the child and adolescent immunization schedule produced by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) or the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP). MCIR will remain unchanged and assessment and forecasting will follow recommendations set forth in the AAP schedule.
